STEALTH RESERVOIR CONDITIONINGEvery day, potentially harmful contamination is introduced directly into the oil reservoir of virtually all operating systems. In addition to the potential for system damage, this also accounts for an increase in oil filtration expenses, maintenence time, makeup oil, and increased operating expenses. This contamination can enter via any number of discrete methods.
In high dust and debris or high humidity environments, the potential for damage from any of these ingression modes can be significantly increased. With STEALTH reservoir air conditioning systems, the potential for contaminant ingression can be virtually eliminated. In addition, STEALTH reservoir systems prevent contamination ingression without the need for costly desicant breathers or spin-on canister filters. |

STEALTH TechnologySTEALTH reservoir conditioning systems are designed for simple installation and operation with virtually no operator intervention required. With no moving parts, and no electrical connections they can be used in nearly any plant environment. In most situations, the systems can be installed and operating in less than 1 hour. The key to the system is Porous Media's STEALTH point of use membrane air dryer. Originally invented for PM's Compressed Air and Pneumatic OEM's and customers, STEALTH membrane air dryers will remove the dissolved moisture from plant air systems, resulting in air dewpoints as low as -40oF. By continually introducing very small volumes of this ultra-dry air into the air gap in the reservoir, trace moisture can be driven out of the reservoir, eliminating the potential for condensation. Since a positive flow of clean dry air is flowing from the inside to the outside of the reservoir, potential for particulate contamination ingression is also reduced. Complete STEALTH reservoir conditioning systems incorporate the point of use air dryer with everything necessary to ensure clean, dry oil reservoirs. To ensure no gross water or oil contamination, the air entering the system is first passed through an instrument air coalescing filter utilizing high-performance UNIFORM® borosilicate glass microfiber media and an automatic drain system. Next, the air passes through the membrane air dryer where moisture is removed from the air and discharged through the exhaust vent. The clean, dry air then flows across a critical air orifice which will control the volume of air sent to the reservoir and reduce the pressure to ambient conditions. For safety, a low pressure relief valve is installed downstream of the orifice to ensure that no pressure can build within the system. For optimal reservoir conditioning, the STEALTH system should be installed on port located above the oil level and as far from the reservoir vent as possible, causing the air to fully sweep the reservoir. Since air is continually introduced to the reservoir, care should be taken to ensure that the discharge vent remains unobstructed and that other access points are sealed. All standard STEALTH reservoir conditioning systems are designed to operate with 80-100 PSIG compressed air systems. If an alternate source pressure is required, modified systems can also be provided. For more information, please
